Description

Introduction to Drug Development for Non Scientific Professionals
Date: Friday 26 March 2010
Time: 8.30am to 5.30pm
Location: The Temple, Little Abington, Cambridge

A One-Day Programme
This programme introduces delegates to the process leading from an initial discovery through to the marketing of a drug. The aim of the programme is to show how the many steps are linked together and where key related activities such as patenting, licensing and fund-raising have to be taken into account. It also includes a look at biotechnology in the wider context,
the size of the industry and how it relates to the pharmaceutical sector.

Who is it for?
The programme is aimed at both scientific and administrative professionals and is an ideal way of introducing recent recruits and those not familiar with the 'bigger picture' of drug discovery.
It was commissioned through ERBI's Human Resources Network where key training needs were identified that would be best addressed through training in a multi company forum. The
programme is designed to be interactive, drawing on delegates' own experiences and sharing it with the experiences of their peers from biotechnology companies throughout the region.
Each programme will be restricted to a maximum of 15 delegates, to create an informal environment where maximum benefit is felt by all.

Materials
Delegates will be provided with a full documentation set including copies of all the presentations and selected hand-outs containing additional relevant material which can be studied after the programme.
