| Project Management ...leading the development process |  |  |  | Date: Thursday 18 - Friday 19 March 2010 Duration: 2 Days Location: The Temple, Little Abington, Cambridge Who is it for? The course is suitable for any members of a biotechnology company who are managing projects, either as a full or part time part of their role. It is also an excellent introduction for staff that are about to take up this role. Key Objectives To enable people to help their businesses drive toward success by implementing professional project management in their companies. At the end of the course, participants will be able to: Apply a generic set of processes and tools to projects that they are asked to lead or participate in. Understand how to use a series of key questions to clarify scope, plan and budget, assess risk, monitor and review. Establish role clarity and an operating regime with a project team, and use various techniques to ensure clear communication and build consensus decisions. Resolve problems caused by project issues of reasonable difficulty, by interactions between project team members or functional line management having diverse ability and attitudes. An interactive/tailored experience The two day course is highly practical, featuring simulations, case studies, discussions, tools and expert tips. It is a blend of the leading edge project management methodologies as well as the people skills that are demanded uniquely in the pharma/biotech project environment. The course may be followed by an elective visit, in-company to individuals or groups that have attended. This is 0.5 day, to help participants to introduce new ways of working. It can be observation of a project meeting with feedback, or a coaching session to talk through ways to overcome specific challenges.
